If someone collapses and isn't breathing, CPR can keep blood flowing to their brain until paramedics arrive. Here's the simplest version of what to do.

Step 1 — Check & Call

Tap their shoulder, shout. No response? Call +91 70067 87546 immediately. Put your phone on speaker so you can hear instructions while you start CPR.

Step 2 — Push hard, push fast

Place the heel of your hand in the center of the chest. Place your other hand on top. Push down at least 5 cm deep, at a rate of 100–120 compressions per minute. (The rhythm of "Stayin' Alive" works perfectly.)

Step 3 — Don't stop

Continue compressions until the ambulance arrives or the person starts breathing. Don't worry about mouth-to-mouth if you're untrained — chest compressions alone are highly effective.

Every minute without CPR reduces survival chances by 10%. The first 4 minutes are the most critical.
